Bohannon Reunion 1949
Great-Grandparents A.C. and Belle Bohannon and their children: Willie, Nonnie, A.C., Jr., Bud (my grandfather), Evelyn, Johnnie, Ethel, Jewel and (oh, dear, I can't identify her. Will add her name soon!). This photo was taken in the front yard of my great-parent's house in Hazelhurst, Georgia. Evelyn (better known as Aunt Ed) lived next door until just a few years ago, when, at the age of 92, she moved in with her daughter Billy Jean, on Amelia Island, FL. Uncle A.C. lived acros the dirt road with a pond in his front yard. Sadly, the house in this photo is now collapsed. But we held Bohannon reunions here throughout the 60's, until spreading tables of delectable Southern cooking under the Magnolias. I can still see great-grandma's kitchen and the view through the window above her sink.
We've lost Aunt Nonnie, Uncle Sam and Aunt Ethel in recent years. Aunt Ed and Aunt Jewel are the only remaining siblings from this generation. God bless them!
